Meijer Extends Exclusive Relationship with IBT to Provide In-Store Banking Opportunities ATLANTA - September 19, 2006 - IBT Enterprises, LLC, a leader in retail design, construction and consulting services for the financial and specialty retail industries, announced today that it has extended its partnership with Meijer, Inc. to serve as its exclusive source for identifying financial institutions for in-store retail locations. The partnership, originally formed in May 2005, provides IBT the exclusive rights to market, design and construct in-store retail space for financial service providers seeking to co-locate inside Meijer stores. The new accord extends the partnership an additional 18 months through September 2007. "Our partnership with Meijer has been very successful for all involved," said Tom Tucker, executive vice president of sales and marketing for IBT. "Progressive retailers have benefited from attracting a new segment of consumers to their stores while improving the experience of existing shoppers." Today the Michigan-based grocery and general merchandise supercenter features in-store financial facilities operated by Flagstar Bank, Chase Bank, Consumers Credit Union, Team One Credit Union and CASE Credit Union, in addition to Meijer's own credit union throughout its 176 stores. "Our customers have come to expect the availability and convenience of value-added services such as banking within our stores," said Meijer Real Estate Manager Lynn Richardson. "IBT has been a vital partner to Meijer by helping us meet our customers' expectations of providing one-stop shopping and convenience. In addition, IBT has worked diligently to bring us financial institution partners that uphold the values of the Meijer brand and are committed to in-store banking as a long-term strategy." Flagstar Bank was the first partner under the agreement to open an in-store branch at a Meijer location. To date, Flagstar Bank has opened 4 in-store branches inside Meijer stores. "In-store branching has allowed Flagstar to bring our services directly to our customers as part of their daily routines," said Bev Carter, first vice president, retail banking for Flagstar Bank. "IBT helped us understand how to maximize in-store branching in a way that improves our customer service and recruits new customers who favor a convenient, full-service location."
